January 29th, 2013 - Major League Lacrosse Team The New York Lizards to Hold Benefit for Former Player's Non-Profit Organization, Monster's Kids at SPiN New York

On January 29, 2013 at 7:00PM, Mario Diaz and Tamsen Fadal of CW11 WPIX-TV will host the NY Lizard’s Blizzard; a benefit for Monster’s Kids at SPiN New York, 48 East 23rd St., in New York.

The evening will feature a Ping-Pong tournament, a silent auction, food and refreshments and a chance to meet the New York Lizards team. A percentage of proceeds of the evening will go to support the efforts of Monster’s Kids, a not for profit organization, founded by former NY Lizard, and Lacrosse Magazine’s 2010 Person of the Year, Tim Goettelmann. Combining his passion for lacrosse with his love for children, Goettelmann’s charity benefits sick and injured children at Cohen Children’s Hospital in New Hyde Park, New York. The New York Lizards of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) was founded in 2001 as one of the original six franchises. Formerly the Long Island Lizards, the team won the Steinfeld Cup in its inaugural season, 2001, as well as in 2003.
